SpeechMike or PowerMic buttons do not work
With Talkingvet for Windows, if the
Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic buttons are not working check the following.
- Close Talkingvet
- Right click on the Start Menu and select ‘Device Manager’
- Click the > symbol next to ‘Sound,
video and game controllers’
If you have an entry for "Intel® Smart
Sound Technology for USB Audio" try the following
Unplug your Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic
- Right click on ‘Intel® Smart
Sound Technology for USB Audio’ and select ‘Disable’
- If the computer prompts to restart to make the necessary changes, please restart before continuing.
- Plug the microphone back in, open Talkingvet and click on the dog logo in the lower right corner, select Settings.
- Select the SpeechMike or PowerMic as your local microphone then click SAVE.
- Test
the record button for the microphone
If you DO NOT have an entry for "Intel® Smart
Sound Technology for USB Audio"
- With Talkingvet open, click on the dog logo in the lower right corner, click settings.
- Confirm your microphone is selected under "local microphone"
- Click Save in the lower right corner - even if you did not make any changes please click Save.
- Close then open Talkingvet
- Try your record button now
