SpeechMike or PowerMic buttons do not work

SpeechMike or PowerMic buttons do not work

With Talkingvet for Windows, if the Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic buttons are not working check the following.

  1. Close Talkingvet
  1. Right click on the Start Menu and select ‘Device Manager’
  1. Click the > symbol next to ‘Sound, video and game controllers’

 

           If you have an entry for "Intel® Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio"  try the following

            Unplug your Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic

  1. Right click on ‘Intel® Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio’ and select ‘Disable’
  2. If the computer prompts to restart to make the necessary changes, please restart before continuing.
  3. Plug the microphone back in, open Talkingvet and click on the dog logo in the lower right corner, select Settings. 
  4. Select the SpeechMike or PowerMic as your local microphone then click SAVE.
  5. Test the record button for the microphone

            If you DO NOT have an entry for "Intel® Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio" 
  1. With Talkingvet open, click on the dog logo in the lower right corner, click settings.
  2. Confirm your microphone is selected under "local microphone"
  3. Click Save in the lower right corner - even if you did not make any changes please click Save.
  4. Close then open Talkingvet
  5. Try your record button now
