As of version 1.0.9, you are now able to dictate directly into a target running in a Microsoft Remote Desktop client. In order to do this, you must enable Microsoft RDP compatible mode in the Advanced Settings as shown below: Make sure to click Save after making the change.
Although you can still use Talkingvet with other macOS apps with this setting enabled, we recommend only using it if needed.
Limitations and Notes:
There are a couple of things to be aware of when using Talkingvet with Microsoft Remote Desktop for macOS that you should be aware of:
Additional App Permission:
When you try to use Talkingvet with Microsoft RDP Compatible mode enabled, you will get a prompt as shown below:
Make sure to choose OK. If you accidentally choose Don't Allow, you'll need to contact support to reset this permissions
When using Microsoft Remote Desktop in Full Screen Mode:
If you use Microsoft Remote Desktop in full screen mode, you will not see the Talkingvet app and preview window when dictating. Nor will the Scratchpad appear on top of the Remote Desktop Window. The only indicator you will see is a small orange dot at the top right of the screen when you are in record.
If this is an issue, we recommend Microsoft Remote Desktop in full screen mode. You can still increase the window size so it fills the entire screen. This will allow you to see the Talkingvet app, preview window and scratchpad all of the time.
Use the latest version of Talkingvet and Microsoft Remote Desktop:
This feature was developed and tested using the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop at the time of release which was 10.8.0 from the Mac App Store. You also need to ensure that Clipboard sharing is enabled for the connection;
